Friday Favorites

I’ve been spending these past few days, as I assume many of you have, trying to get back in the swing of things. Any sort of extended time off work really throws me off and the 2nd half of this week has been spent getting caught up on all the work that was put on hold over the holidays. This means I haven’t been doing much else. Yes this includes running. I know, I’m so bad.

This also includes cooking, as in I the most extensive thing I’ve cooked lately has been a sweet potato. In the microwave no less. True story: at the moment we currently have over 30 Lean Cuisine frozen meals in our freezer. This serves two purposes – one being I don’t have to cook anything for the next week and the second being that I am still attempting to detox my body from its 3 week long Christmas binge.

The point is, not much has been going on in my life which leads me to have to post another Friday Favorites post. Whatever, it’s my blog. Plus I get to post funny pictures which otherwise may not pertain to a post.

Favorite Purchase

Attention All: Target is having 70% off all of their holiday crap. This includes but is not limited to doggie pajamas. Best $2.75 I’ve spent in a long time.

Favorite Drink

I was lucky enough to receive several Starbucks gift cards for the holidays and have been doing a pretty good job of spending them on steamy mugs of Tazo’s Zen Green Tea. This shit is good. I promise it doesn’t taste like freshly mowed grass (as most green teas do). And it’s also one of the less expensive items on the ‘Bucks drink menu. Yes it’s still 2 bucks a cup and yes I could go buy a whole box for like 8 but spending 8 bucks for a box of tea is just crazy. I’ll stick to my 2 buck cups. Makes sense.

Favorite Moment

Bringing in 2013 of course! Nothing like being crammed together with 100’s of other drunk people to watch a luminescent ball being slowly lowered to mark the end of the year and the beginning of a new one.

Favorite Meal

The pork stroganoff from Tupelo Honey Cafe. Seriously just read the description:

“Our southern riff on classic creamy stroganoff featuring pork tenderloin in our cremini mushroom gravy. served over goat cheese grits and topped with jalapeno cilantro pesto and sour cream”

Hell. Yes.

Favorite reason why I shouldn’t get up and run

Because its 25 flippin’ degrees out!! Seriously. Nobody runs in that kind of weather except polar bears and Sasquatch.
